DamTour 2010:

marker 2 ~ Aberdeen Lake Dam ~ WA ~  139 mi from PDX - 95 mi Sea-Tac.

Aberdeen Lake Dam forms Aberdeen Lake on Van Winkle Creek just off of Highway 12 east of Aberdeen, Washington. The dam and fish hatchery is .8 miles off US-12. You arrive at the hatchery below the dam and then you can pass by the dam to the upper/lake side. There is a footbridge across the dam spillway with great views. Our thanks to Jim Carroll for his dam quest providing us with some great photos of the dam and area. This also comes with a warning from Jim about access.

*The first thing to note about Lake Aberdeen Dam. "Be very careful re-entering US-12 after leaving the dam, you enter off of a side road. There is no merge lane or light, and traffic is coming at you from both directions, two lanes each way, at 60+ MPH."
