Ana River Dam is located north of the town of Summer Lake and 90 miles southwest of La Pine, Oregon. From Hwy 31 (between mile post marker 66 & 67) take Carlon Road ( Co. Hwy. 4-16,) which is paved, for approximately one mile to the Ana Reservoir RV Park. You should see at sign at the corner of hwy 31 and Carlon for the RV Park. If you don't want to do any gravel, take your photo here. To continue on to Ana Dam, take Ana Road south for about a mile.
While you can see the reservoir and dam from State Highway 31, Lakeview Drive is apparently not paved, in spite of reports that it was. The dam is in the Ana Reservoir County Park and there is a paved parking lot/boat ramp at the dam. But if you don't want to ride the 3/4 mile of gravel to the dam, take your picutre at the RV Sign.
The Ana River conveys water from Ana Reservoir through the Summer Lake Wildlife Area and eventually to Summer Lake and is a popular fishing spot and has year round fishing.
