marker 8 ~ Boundary Dam ~ WA ~  457 mi from PDX - 393 mi Sea-Tac.

Boundary Dam is a spectacular dam located in the Northeast corner of Washington, approximately one mile from the border with Canada on the Pend Oreille(pronounced "pond-ah-ray") River. Take your photo at the base of the dam on the west side. Accessed by riding down the dam access road, that will allow a photo of your bike with the dam in the background. You can access the west side of the dam via Boundary Road out of Metaline, Washington.

* Note: Update... the visitor center and dam do not open until May 31st so take your photo at the gate or in the park overlooking the reservoir on the west side until then. GPS belwo is for park.

The dam can also be viewed from the scenic overlook on the east side of the dam called Vista House, that is two miles west of Hwy 31. It is well worth the extra time and miles. And, Metaline Falls is a quaint and historic town to visit.
