~ Lake Lowell Dams ~ Idaho ~ 413 mi from PDX - 486 mi Sea-Tac.
The mystery laden bonus dam unfolds. I think most of you have figured out the clue Steve gave at the Awards Party last fall... More than one, less than five. Yes, Lake Lowell located southwest(mostly west) of Nampa, Idaho, has more than one dam/embankment to form this large lake.
So here is the deal and the details. To get credit for this bonus dam to earn the trophy, you must produce photo verification of all dams on this lake, at the specific locations shown in the photos at right. From top down it is Dam #1, Dam #2, and two options for Dam #3, because option one is on the Wildlife Refuge, below the visitors center (just follow the deer tracks... LOL) and it is open only during daylight hours. Second option for Dam #3 is on a different road. Last is Dam #4. You can not get your bike there, so take your photo at the location to the right, or further in at the McLean Family sign. Can ya do it? Can you find them all? I'll give you a hint... Tio Lane is involved with #4.
Just for fun, there is a 2011 DamTour poster hanging in TVM Motorsports in Nampa. They are a new sponsors this year. And... as a added twist, if you don't want to do the research for the "dam" locations... go to the store and you will find all five of the photos shown above and right, with the proper naming for your submissions, and the GPS to each one. So... If you get a chance, or are so inclined, please drop in and say hi to Lesa, and sign the poster and get those damn dams. :-)
