Powerdale Dam

Powerdale Dam (aka Copper Dam)is a diversion dam, which is located on Hood River approximately 4.5 miles upstream of the Columbia River. Powerdale Generation facility consists of a small diversion dam (Powerdale Dam) and a reservoir .

Note from Steve: "Powerdale involves .5 mile of BAD gravel.  They can take picture at intersection it they want.  There is a sign 'Copper Dam Road".

Powerdale Dam was built during severe winter storms in late 1922 and early 1923. It began operating years before the U.S. Corps of Engineers constructed -major hydropower operations along the Columbia River.
