DamTour 2012:

marker 3 ~ Prosser Dam ~ Washington ~  193 mi from PDX - 197 mi Sea-Tac.

Prosser Dam is a diversion dam located within the city limits of Prosser Washington on the Yakima River. Prosser Dam was also on the 2007 DamTour. If you review the photos posted in 2007, you will see that pictures were taken on both sides of the dam, although the south end provides a much closer view. When you visit this dam please try to drop in on one of our sponsors, Desert Valley Powersports, just a little over a mile away.

You don't have to ride the interstate highway to get there, as there are several routes in and out of the city. If you are coming from Mill Pond Dam, go through Goldendale, take the Bickleton Highway to Mabton, and Hwy 22 into Prosser for a great ride. If you are coming in from the east (tri-cities), there are several county roads to explore on the way to Prosser. From the north, highway 241 to Mabton is a nice ride.
