Timothy Lake is formed by the dam on the Oak Grove branch of the Clackamas River, high in the Oregon Cascade Mountains. The Dam is about 50 miles from Portland, OR, and is just 12 miles off of Highway 26. It can be accessed by paved road either from the east or west side as the road actually crosses over the dam.
The dam was built in 1956 on Timothy Meadows to regulate the flow to Lake Harriet. It is a compacted earthen dam.
