~ Whistlers Bend ~ Oregon ~ 193 mi from PDX - 482 mi Sea-Tac.
Whistlers Bend Dam is hidden in the rolling hills west of Glide, on South Bank Drive. It is 23.6 miles from Wilbur going over the North Bank Road(county road 200) to the dam. This is a great ride. There is less than 1/2 mile of hard pack oiled gravel from the corner of Whistlers Park Rd and S, Bank Drive. You can take your photo here as an alternate(see photo at right), but it is an easy drive up to the dam.
While not much of a dam, it has great fishing I am told. Bull Creek, both feeds and drains Whistlers Bend Dam, and then empties into the North Umpqua River.
